Belarusbank OJSC highly appreciated an investment project implemented y Babushkina Krynka OJSC in 2009, naming it the best project of the year.

According to head of the company’s marketing department Natalya Shablovskaya, the project was carried out at Belynichi Cheese Plant, which is one of the subsidiaries of Babushkina Krynka.

Babushkina Krynka OJSC exported 50% of the output in January-June 2009, Director Igor Kononchuk told Interfax-West. 85% of the exports fell on the Russian Federation, he specified.

According to the director, the produce of Babushkina Krynka enjoys a great demand abroad. In his words, the latest technologies enable the company to successfully compete with foreign dairy producers.

Babushkina Krynka OJSC has produced a pilot lot of a new kind of fat-free curd, head of the company’s marketing department Natalya Shablovskaya told Interfax-West.

According to the source, the new kind of curd (with a fat content of 1% and 3%) will be sold in Lancover packs. The packaging material is similar to Ecolean, the other type of packaging used by the company.

Babushkina Krynka OJSC invested BYR 3.1 billion in fixed assets in January-February 2009, or 3.5 times up on the year, a company representative told Interfax-West.

According to the source, most of the investments fell on the construction of a whey drying shop and the modernization of the dry milk production line. The latter project is expected to be completed by summer, the source added.

This year Babushkina Krynka is planning to launch several new daisy products. Besides, some kinds of curds and chocolate-glazed curd bars will be sold in new packs, the source reported.

Babushkina Krynka OJSC invested BYR 10.7 billion in fixed assets in 2008, a company representative told Interfax-West.

BYR 5.4 billion came the company’s own funds and BYR 5.3 billion came from bank loans, the source specified. In 2008 the company carried out three investment projects, namely, the modernization of Belynichi Cheese Plant, the upgrading of the parent company and the construction of a whey drying shop.

Babushkina Krynka Open Joint Stock Company increased the output and export of dairy products by 19% in 2008, a company representative told Interfax-West.

According to the source, in 2008 the company produced BYR 254 billion worth of goods, or 19% up on the year in comparable prices. Exports also grew by 19%, making a total of $70 million.

Mogilev-based Babushkina Krynka OJSC has won the grand prix at the Best Produce of the Year 2008 contest, head of the company’s marketing department Natalya Shablovskaya told Interfax-West.

In her words, the contest has been annually held in Belarus for over a decade. This year’s 80 participants competed in 50 nominations.

It is the third time that Babushkina Krynka won the grand prix, Shablovskaya noted. This year the jury particularly appreciated the company’s yoghurt (2% of fat), chocolate butter, fermented milk drink Bifiland and semi-hard cheeses.

Russian television program Test Purchase has come to the conclusion that the best Russian cheese is made in Belarus.

As usual, there were eight contestant products of approximately the same price. The first round took place at a supermarket, where customers selected five semi-finalists judging by their taste. Following the program’s tradition, rounds two and three were held at an expert laboratory, where experts chose three finalists and the winner. The winner turned out to be Russian cheese made by Mogilev-based Babushkina Krynka OJSC.

Babushkina Krynka OJSC has won the international Choice of the Year 2007 contest, a company representative told Interfax.

According to the source, the contest aims to single out the best goods and services on the Belarusian market on the basis of a comprehensive market research conducted by MASMI.BY (40%), expert opinion (30%). Representatives of advertising agencies (15%), the jury (10%) and the organization committee (5%) also take part in the selection process. Mogilev Region Governor Boris Batura has presented STB ISO 22000-2006 certificate to Igor Kononchuk, director of Babushkina Krynka OJSC, an Interfax reporter informs.

According to the director, the certificate issued by the national standardization committee proves that the company’s methods of the production and storage of rennet cheeses meet the requirements of STB ISO 22000-2006.

The company was granted the certificate after the relevant cheese-making equipment was installed at one of its affiliates, Belynichi Cheese Plant, the director explained.

Babushkina Krynka Open Joint Stock Company has increased the export of dairy products to non-CIS states, a company representative told Interfax-West.

In Q1 2007 the company exported $550,000 worth of goods to non-CIS states, while last year non-CIS export was confound to minor shipments.

According to the source, over the period in question the company exported over 220 tonnes of dry fat-free milk to Singapore, Japan and other foreign states. Babushkina Krynka has also established contacts with French, Polish, Dutch and German trade companies, the source added.
